National and International Academic Conference 2023 (FAR9)
“Philosophy and Practice of Asean Art”
1st – 2nd September 2023

  1. Special keynote speaker is run via the academic conference website: https://far.kku.ac.th along with the on-site oral presentation and poster at Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University.
  2. The presenters can choose one of the following presentation formats:

               2.1 General panel or oral presentation. Presenters have to present through the on-site session at Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University. Presenters will be divided into two groups: national and international conferences.

  • National Conference is a presentation of an article using Thai language. The content must align with the conference concept and relate to the artistic fields: visual arts, design, music, performances, history, and culture.
  • International Conference is a presentation of an article using English language. The content must align with the conference concept and relate to the artistic fields: visual arts, design, music, performances, history, and culture.
  • Poster presentation is a presentation using a poster. The poster must follow the template format provided on the academic conference website, which allows presentations in both Thai and English languages. The completed poster must be submitted by 16th August 2023.

               2.3 New Scholars is a research presentation group specifically designed for emerging scholars, particularly doctoral students. It offers an opportunity to present their work in a friendly atmosphere, with experienced researchers and academics leading the conference and engaging in exchanges of ideas. The focus of the group is on emerging scholars in various fields of arts, including visual arts, design, music, performing arts, history, and culture. Interested participants are required to submit an abstract and a concept paper, limited to 5,000 words.

               2.4 Workshop Panel is a group where presenters aim to share technical findings or creative methodologies in producing artistic works across various disciplines such as visual arts, design, music, performing arts, history, and culture. It provides a hands-on opportunity for participants to observe, practice, and exchange ideas after the practical presentation. This group welcomes up to 5 presenters, either as individuals or in a group of no more than 5 members.

               2.5 Roundtable is a presentation format conducted as a selected-topic discussion based on the conference's thematic framework. Presenters have the opportunity to engage in conversations and discussions with experienced researchers, who will serve as moderators in a friendly atmosphere. This format is suitable for students, researchers, academics, and anyone interested in the field of arts across all disciplines. Participants can submit research papers or short academic articles to participate in the discussion by providing an abstract and a concept paper, limited to 5,000 words.

               2.6 Performance Panel is a group dedicated to presenting artistic works through performances in various fields such as visual arts, design, music, performing arts, and culture. Presentations can be in the form of live performances (live performances) on an online platform or through video presentations. The video presentation should adhere to the following specifications:

  • The performance should not exceed 15 minutes in duration. The video should be recorded in HD (High Definition) with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The video file format should be .mp4. The video should be uploaded to Google Drive and shared with tornji@kku.ac.th.
  • Presenters have the option to engage in post-performance discussions either through an online platform or via Zoom meeting (complete video submissions should be sent by 16th August 2023).
