The National and International Academic Conference 2024 (FAR10)
Exclusion - Inclusion in New Isan Art: Reimaging, Rebranding, and Reinterpreting
on 2nd – 3rd August 2024
at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University


Presentation Format Options:

  1. General Panel: This format involves oral presentations in two groups, namely National and International, as follows:

          1.1 National Conference: Presentations are in Thai language, with content relevant to the conference theme and related to the following art disciplines: Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, History, and Culture.

          1.2 International Conference: Presentations are in English, with content relevant to the conference theme and related to the following art disciplines: Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, History, and Culture.

   Note: Submission details are as follows:

  1. For academics, professors, and students, only abstracts are required.
  2. For students presenting as part of their studies, full papers should not exceed 15 pages.

 

  1. Poster Presentation: This format involves presenting using posters following the specified template on the conference website. Posters can be in Thai or English and must be submitted in their complete form by July 19th, 2024.

 

  1. New Scholars: This format is for presenting research work, especially for new academics and doctoral students. It provides an opportunity to present work in a friendly atmosphere with experienced researchers and academics leading the conference. The exchange of perspectives among new scholars in the fields of Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, History, and Culture is encouraged. Submissions for New Scholars should include an abstract and a Concept Paper not exceeding 5,000 words.

          3.1 National Conference: Presentations are in Thai language, with content relevant to the conference theme and related to the following art disciplines: Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, History, and Culture.

          3.2 International Conference: Presentations are in English, with content relevant to the conference theme and related to the following art disciplines: Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, History, and Culture.

1.4 Workshop panel: This group is for presenters who want to showcase technical discoveries or methods in creating artistic works in various fields such as Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, History, and Culture. It is a practical session that invites participants to engage, observe, and exchange ideas after presenting their practices. This group accepts up to 5 presentations, either individual or group presentations with no more than 5 members.

1.5 Roundtable: This format involves presenting selected topics according to the conference theme. Presenters can participate in discussions with experienced researchers who will moderate the discussions in a friendly atmosphere. It is suitable for students at all levels, researchers, academics, and art enthusiasts. Submissions for this group can include research papers or short academic articles. Abstracts and Concept Papers should not exceed 5,000 words.

1.6 Performance panel: This group is for presenting works through live performances in various fields such as Fine Arts, Design, Music, Performing Arts, and Culture. Presenters can perform live on the website or present a video recording of the performance. Details for video submissions are as follows:

  • Performances should not exceed 15 minutes in length. Video details should be recorded in HD (High Definition: 1280 x 720 pixels) and saved as .mp4 files. Videos should be uploaded to Google Drive and shared with tornji@kku.ac.th.
  • Presenters can participate in post-performance discussions either online or through Zoom meetings (complete video submissions should be sent by July 15th, 2024).

 

Note: Participants who submit creative works and desire to showcase them should express their interest. The faculty will consider allocating exhibition space for future displays.
